What William McDonough says in a nutshell is waste is generally stupid. He says
that there shouldn't be waste at all. That materials should be run in a closed cycle: raw → end user
product → returned back into the industry after usage → product divided into fundamental
materials → raw materials for making products → end user product and so on. There is
no waste point where any consumer product is tossed away to damage water/ soil/ forest or other natural
environment.
He tries to apply that principle to regular business so that owners could BENEFIT from it.
Like for example they built literally green (grass) roof for Ford company and saved about $35 million.
They made shoes for Nike which are easily divideable into its constituents. Designed a chair for
furniture company which is processed back into raw materials in less than a minute.
